Welcome to the very first edition of Dear Adrienne; a brand new column where I’ll be using the cards to see what advice and insight we have for you! Stories will be shared anonymously, and can always be submitted through the Dear Adrienne contact form.

Now without further adieu, let’s dive right in to this edition’s submission!

Dear Adrienne,

I am a natural healer and sensitive with many years of intuitive counselling experience.
Now I want to start up a small business beginning on Instagram, and perhaps venturing into a YouTube channel.
My vision is to offer a 3 part video coaching course for women to release stuck energies and empower their lives. Supported by lots of great advice, information and Reiki sessions available on my business page.
I’d love to know what guidance your Tarot cards may give me on if this would be successful, and the best way to go about this.

I have the experience, but not the know how yet!

Dear Natural Healer,

My first question is what are you waiting for!? Like, really, what are you waiting for? The cards are telling you it’s all systems go – so let’s dig into what advice they have on how to go forward.

Featuring the Prisma Visions Tarot by James R. Eads

The Three of Chalices makes me wonder if you’re hesitating because there’s a part of you that’s afraid to really put yourself out there. It’s hard going into it on your own, and what if people don’t like what you do? What if there’s too much competition? How do I get people to choose me?

Whatever your worries are, the High Priestess tells you to trust yourself and your instincts. Make time to connect to your inner wisdom. Listen to your intuition, even if it’s pushing you outside your comfort zone. Our inner knowing can be so hard to trust because our ego wants to keep us safe; but you know that this is the right way forward for you.

It’s hard to build something new, but continue making connections – both to potential clients and those in the industry that may have a few pieces of sage advice. You don’t have to feel like you’re going in it totally alone.

Will it be worth it? Yes. The Queen of Pentacles is a great sign for success as long as you’re willing to put in the work (and it will take work). What don’t you have the know how to do? Channel that inner Queen and learn it. There are a plethora of resources available to you – use them.

Do research. Have a plan. Be realistic, and know what your limits are. But also know what you have to offer. It’ll take time, so don’t get discouraged if things don’t skyrocket the moment you launch. This is a business that you’ll build, and with the Lovers, you’re making the right choice.

Just remember to choose the path that is authentic to you. Offer a course that is authentic to who you are – and people will choose it. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it, especially with the Lovers and Queen of Pentacles – a mentor or business coach might give you that extra push you need to get organized, and get going!

I love how you said you want to do a 3-part video course for women – and what do we have? Three women in the Three of Chalices, stuck or trapped as the card came up reversed. It’s a healing business, and we have the High Priestess. You want it to thrive, and we have the Queen of Pentacles. And you want to be doing something that is genuine and meaningful to you, and we have the Lovers. If you’re wondering if your vision is on the track, I can’t give you a clearer sign that it is.

Dear Adrienne,

I’m meeting my sibling’s partner this weekend, and I have reason to believe that she’s not such a great person. Based on what I’ve heard about her, I feel like she’s displayed several signs of emotional abuse.

I care about my brother, and I just don’t know how to go about the interaction. How do I deal with this situation? Do I interrogate her? Say as little as possible? Just act natural? Meeting her is going to be strange!

Dear Conflicted Carl,

It’s always … different meeting a sibling or a friend’s new partner – especially when what you’ve heard isn’t all the best.

Featuring the White Numen Tarot by Liminal 11

The Magician shows us that you have an idea of what you think a ‘good’ person for your sibling would be, and this girl, doesn’t align. How things turn out in the meeting has a lot to do with how you act and react as the Magician shows that you have more power than you realize.

The Five of Pentacles is about overcoming challenges or adversity. So, instead of going in with the idea that this is a battle you’re about to embark on, approach with curiosity. You’re basing what you know on what you’ve heard, not what you’ve experienced. This card also says that whether you like it or not, you’ll have to accept her as part of his life – at least for a while.

It seems that your relationship with her won’t be the easiest, and will come with a lot of conflicting feelings. The Ace of Cups reversed definitely shows a disconnect, and a tendency to be cold towards one another. That’s okay – you’re not the one dating her. But if you push too hard, you may end up isolating yourself from your brother.

Focus on the good things you can find. Focus on being there to support your brother. Give her a chance to get a fresh start without what you’ve heard being a driving force of what your opinions of her are today.

No need for an interrogation (we don’t have any Swords in this spread!). Remember you’re there to support your sibling – just act natural. Look for insight yourself when meeting her in person, and try not to allow your emotions and worry get the better of you.

Dear Adrienne is released on the 1st and 15th of every month. Have a situation that you want advice on? Submit your story.
